How soon after giving birth is it safe to get breast lift surgery?

I know that I can expect my body to change after giving birth, it’s kind of. I have gained 20 lbs post delivery and I could tell my body looks great after delivery, but my boobs size has increased and they are sagging because of breastfeeding my little one. But on the plus side, I’ve heard that breastfeeding will make you lose the pregnancy weight faster. But it didn’t happen in my case. I’m happy to see my breast size has increased to a C cup, but I don’t want my boobs to get saggy. I was searching a lot to know how to deal with sagging breasts and I have been reading some good plastic surgeon reviews ( ) on breast lift surgery. I’m planning to get it done as soon as possible. How soon after giving birth is it safe to get breast lift surgery?

It is likely, given your concerns, that you will benefit from breast lifting surgery plus or minus breast augmentation. One of the major and considerations is timing of the surgery in relation to your life circumstances.

Some patients prefer to wait until they have completed pregnancies and/or are in stable long-term relationships.

Most patients undergoing this procedure will accept scarring as long as their overall goals in regards to size, shape, contour and symmetry are met.

Only you will know based on your own specific life circumstances and goals etc. when that time will be right. At that point consider consultation with well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons.

No don't go for a surgery. It's not good. Don't you want another child. It's going to create problems for you. You'll face problem in next time feeding your new baby. You can just take other methods for that. Do jogging regularly after you think you are able to do it. Just forget about surgery. It' going to harm you in future.

Dear Juliana, you look really concerned about your looks and appearance. It is very natural to put on the weight after pregnancy. Due to development of the mammary glands, the breasts start getting heavy. I would suggest that if you have started with the breastfeeding, wait until the next 6 months. Breast surgery will deprive your child of the earliest nutrition that is the main source of a perfect beginning of the life. The other option is complete your family and then go for the surgery. It will be more fruitful. I would advise that you choose the option after careful search and analysis.

You should first finish breastfeeding. That is after 6 months. But some parents breastfeed even for more than months. But medically the months are compulsory. Ore lets say till when you will be comfortable with breastfeeding. This is because after the surgery you cannot breastfeed again. I hope you are also not planning of having other children. Because you will be forced not to breastfeed. I hope it is a decision that you have keenly thought about it. Do not make rush decisions. It could be better if you had decided this with a lot of thinking. Probably after finishing family planning. When you ate now satisfied that you do not want children anymore. Then is when it is best. I can say people will not even believe that you are a mother. It will be better that way. Rather than having other children later and they fail to breastfeed. I hope you know how important it is for them to breastfeed.

With pregnancy comes a number of external and internal changes to the body. Some women come out of pregnancy looking as good as they did before and others may not. If you think you need a mom job or a mommy makeover. Wait a minimum of six months after the birth of your child before having any body enhancing procedures. Some believe that waiting a year is more appropriate. In the end. The procedure you want to have done will be one of the determining factors behind how long you should wait. There are several important considerations as to why waiting is the best plan before considering breast enhancement after pregnancy. Your breasts will be changing for several months after delivery. If you’ve decided to breastfeed, the changes will continue until you've stopped breastfeeding. Breast surgery is not advised until the skin and breast tissue have stabilized. Three to six months after breastfeeding. Or three to six months after delivery if you are not breastfeeding.

I guess you should have to wait a while. Why do you want to do it in the first place? It's not very good. Anyway, I guess it might be personal. Still, I think you should wait at least 2 years before going through this process. This is going to be very much helpful for you. Just try to take care of yourself till then. Take care of the baby as well. May you both be safe. Best of luck dear.

Wait at least 6 months before having the procedure. If by chance you do breast feed, wait until 6 months after you finish breast feeding to allow the breast to settle down. A breast lift after pregnancy is very common. Can be performed safely and if you desire a bit more fullness. An augmentation can be performed at the same time. You must have completed breastfeeding and your hormonal rhythms, weight, (and your energy level) must have returned to normal–before thinking about breast implants right after pregnancy. Give each life change its chance to settle in. Before you begin another. After approximately 6 months we’d be happy to discuss breast implant surgery and the timing of it. As it applies to you specifically. If you get implants before you’ve had children (or before you’ve had all your children) there is a possibility you may not be able to breast feed. However, the vast majority of women, with saline or silicone implants, can breastfeed.
