This is going to be a different type of a success story. :)

This is going to be a different type of a success story.

My DH and I tried for a little over a year to get PG. After charting I began to suspect that I might have a luteal issue so I went to my OBGYN. She told me that I had to go for an HSG and some bloodwork and that DH would have to go for a SA. (After all - 40% of infertility is due to men she told me.)

I told DH I would go for my tests and if they came back ok - he could go for his. My tests came back perfect so DH went and did his SA. I was in the car with my In-Laws when I got the call from my OBGYN. She told me that there was no sperm - not a single one. Meanwhile, DH is looking at me quizically while his parents are chatting away and I am trying to breathe. Telling him later was one of the worse moments of our marriage. So - he goes for another SA. Guess what? Nothing, nada, no swimmers.

Next we get a referral to a urologist. They go in and do a biopsy and we nervously wait for the results. The doctor comes in an tellse us that not only does DH not have any sperm, he doesn't even have the germ cells to create sperm and there is nothing we can do about it. Needless to say - we were in shock.

After we cried and talked about it - we used donor sperm. After a lot of emotional crap, drugs, shots and 5 IUIs, I became pregnant.

Right now, DH and DD are curled up together and yelling at the TV watching their favorite show - Wipeout. (She is 5 and he is a guy - both are easily entertained! lol) Using donor was not our first choice but if we didn't - we would have this amazing little girl.
