Long-distance friendships

Hello ladies,

I joined this forum a while ago, but this is my first post. I am 33 years old and a mother of two, with a third child due this month! I think it is wonderful that this forum provides an opportunity for mothers to find friends, and I have enjoyed reading the posts here.

I am not able to do meetups or playdates, but I would love to find one or two genuine-quality friendships via long-distance, with other mothers who have similar interests. If you think we have things in common, and would like to write letters by e-mail, you're welcome to contact me.

I stay at home with my children and also homeschool, something I really enjoy. As a homemaker I enjoy cooking, baking, gardening, home organization, and spending time with my family. We do not have a TV in the home, and my interests are quite old-fashioned compared to most of what is popular in the world today. We also live out in the country, in West Virginia, so I love the country life and being out in nature.
We live on a gravel road, among the trees and hills. I like to work in the soil, take care of my yard, and hand-pump water.

I wish you all a lovely day!

Hi, what a beautiful life style. I wish I could be a stay at home mom but I currently work full time and yes I do watch tv but would love to chat and be a mom friend. :) I have a 7 year old boy and am currently married, we are possibly thinking of having 1 more soon enough because my biological clock is ticking ;) I'm trying to be a good mom as best I can but I don't really like cooking boo on me. anyway that's a little bit about me, hope we can stay in touch. Have a nice day.

Hi Amy! I just joined this forum tonight due to feeling quite lonely. I'm a stay at home mom to my 10 month old son and am expecting a daughter in March. Not only are there no matching mothers near me, but I would have trouble doing play dates anyway since we are a single vehicle home and my boyfriend needs the car for work. I was surprised to see you live in WV. I do, too, and it's not a place that commonly pops up. I would love to stay in touch and talk about motherhood and the things important to us. I do enjoy movies and television, but spend most of my down time reading and writing instead. I hope we can get to know each other!

Wendy, thank you so much for your message. I hope you enjoy your new home in Roanoke. I lived in Virginia around 6 years. That's wonderful that you can be a stay-at-home mother. I also really like gardening, although that has had to go on hold during the later part of my pregnancy. I would be glad to write back and forth with you too. Unfortunately I'm not able to do chatting, but I do use e-mail. I will send you a message with my e-mail address in case you would like to contact me that way.

Gullibledino, welcome to the forum, and I am glad that you found my post here. I am sorry to hear about your loneliness, but I can understand. I don't know what part of West Virginia you live in, but yes, I agree that it is not one of the most commonly heard of places. Living out in the country can make it hard to find friends one's age too. I would be glad to stay in touch too--I'll send you my e-mail address.

    Have a lovely day!
